La Liga action continues on Friday as recently promoted Alaves welcomes Athletic Bilbao to the Estadio de Mendizorroza.

Bilbao have enjoyed an excellent start to the new La Liga season, and they come into this fixture currently unbeaten in their last four league matches.

Having suffered defeat in their season opener against Real Madrid, the Basque side have responded well with three wins and a draw and nine goals scored in their four most recent league contests.

However, the visitors can expect a tough night at the Estadio de Mendizorroza against an Alaves side that has won both of their first two home games of the new season. 

Five games into their campaign, Alaves have lost all three away matches but scored vital wins against Sevilla (4:3) and Valencia (1:0) on home soil. Luis Garcia´s side have now lost just 2 of their last 27 home matches since August 2022. 

Given Alaves excellent home form and Bilbao´s impressive run of results, both teams will feel confident of taking something from this game. With that in mind, I expect both to get on the scoresheet in Vitoria-Gasteiz.

While neither side are especially consistent performers in the BTTS market, Bilbao have seen that outcome in six of their last nine away La Liga matches. With Alaves already enjoying a 4:3 thriller against Sevilla, I like the chances of both scoring at an attractive price.
