Celtic vs Zenit Prediction Europa League

Celtic vs Zenit Prediction, Betting Tips and Preview

Football fans are in for a real treat as the Scottish champions will host one of the biggest names in Russian football. This is a game of the first leg of the round of 32 between Celtic and Zenit Petersburg at the Celtic Park.

Celtic, led by Brendan Rodgers, are in a great form and their recent results best picture that. Under Brendan, Celtic won the Scottish domestic treble last season – for the fourth time in their history – without losing a match. Out of the last six games, they have five wins and one loss. Celtic are facing Zenit after losing all three home games in their UEFA Champions League group stage. Throughout their history, Celtic have had a positive balance when facing Russian oppositions. They have won three, drawn two, and lost one game. Their record at the home side is less impressive with a single draw, win, and a loss. Their most recent clash against a team from Russia was in the season 2012/13 when they managed to beat Spartak Moskva by the score of 2-1.

Prediction and Bet on Europa League

Zenit are undefeated in seven UEFA outings with six wins and a draw. They’ve failed to keep a clean sheet in all of those games, conceding one goal in each of those encounters. This is their eighth year in a row that they are still competing in Europe in the springtime. They finished third in last season's Russian league and reached the UEFA Europa League group stage after overcoming Bnei Yehuda in the third qualifying round and Utrecht in the play. Zenit have some valuable experience when it comes to playing against the Scotish teams. Arguably, the greatest night of the club’s history was in 2007/08 when they beat Rangers by the score of 2-0 in the UEFA Cup final in Manchester.

The two sides have never faced each other before and we will enjoy in one tough game with lots of midfield duels. Read our betting preview and take your chance to win a big with our prediction and betting tips.

One comment

  1. Not a bad write up.
Important to note that Celtics defence has been poor of late, they shipped 2 goals to 3rd bottom Partick Thistle in their last game. Lost 1 – 0 to Kilmarnock also, recent form has been poor compared to last season.
Theres a definite vulnerability in defence, Dedryk Boyata is out with injury and Nir Bitton back up Center back is injured too. Jozo Simunovic is bound to be low on confidence, he gifted PT a goal with a shocking mistake.
I am 95% certain that Zenit will score at some point.
I am taking Over 2.5 Goals, but BTTS would also be a good shout. Couldn’t possibly call the victor although i hope its Celtic!
