Western United's sketchy form continued over the weekend, with a 2-1 away defeat by playoff hopefuls Macarthur FC as goals from Matt Derbyshire and former Athletic Bilbao winger Markel Susaeta saw them recover from Dylan Pierias' early opener. 

Alessandro Diamanti created his seventh assist in six games, and the captain led by example, though his team were largely second best - the scoreline flattered them, as their hosts missed multiple big chances. 

They'll be hoping for a response against Brisbane Roar, who are two points above them in seventh and also targeting a much-needed result after their own struggles of late.
