This season's Championship campaign finally reaches its long-awaited conclusion on Tuesday evening, with an enticing playoff final battle to come. London rivals Brentford and Fulham go head-to-head at Wembley for the opportunity to secure Premier League promotion this summer.

Both sides have done well to get to a memorable showpiece event, but only one side can emerge victorious. Who will it be? Read my match preview, for the correct score predictions and best betting tips ahead of this fixture.

Brentford vs Fulham Betting Tips

Brentford had a one-goal deficit to overturn from their first leg defeat by Swansea City in the semi-final. They blew the Swans away with an assertive first-half display during their final fixture at Griffin Park three days later.

A quick-fire double from Ollie Watkins and Emiliano Marcondes obliterated that aggregate scoreline after just 15 minutes. Bryan Mbeumo also got on the scoresheet in the second-half, while star forward Said Benrahma was equally relentless.

It's fair to say Thomas Frank's side deserve their passage to Wembley here. After all, they were the division's highest goalscorers (80), second-best defensive record (38 goals conceded) and narrowly missed out on automatic promotion.

However, they entertain a familiar foe in local rivals Fulham. Both west London clubs have shown desire and proven they're of the requisite quality to survive should they get promoted, but there's only space for one. After a gritty, hard-fought 3-2 aggregate win over Cardiff, Scott Parker's men will be bullish about their chances here too.

Although Golden Boot winner Aleksandar Mitrovic (hamstring) watched their semi-final from the stands, he's said to be “fighting fit” in the race to start here. Michael Hector and captain Tom Cairney could be key for the Cottagers, targeting a top-flight return at the first time of asking.

Brentford vs Fulham Correct Score Predictions

This promises to be a compelling watch considering what's at stake, though Brentford will enter the game as favourites. Fulham must prove they're able to win ugly and frustrate top opposition here in both boxes, which is easier said than done. I'm backing a narrow Bees victory though.
