Barcelona vs Sporting Prediction, Betting Tips and Preview

Another exciting match awaits the football fans as FC Barcelona will host Sporting and the Camp Nou. The Catalan team will try to continue their unbeaten streak while Sporting will try overpass Juventus in Group D.

Barcelona are placed first in Group D and have accumulated eleven points from the first five games. So far in their UEFA Champions League group campaign, they’ve won three times and gotten a draw on two occasions while having a positive goal difference of +6. In the previous round, they drew against Juventus by the score of 0-0. Both teams had their chances but failed to capitalize on them. Alongside Manchester City, Barcelona are the only team that is still unbeaten in both the Champions League and the domestic league. Their defender, Samuel Umtiti is out for eight weeks so Barca may have some holes in their defense for the upcoming duel, something that Sporting's attack might take advantage of.

Sporting are placed third and it seems like their form is improving. After a two-game losing streak, they managed to change their ways, first by getting a draw against Juventus and then by winning against Olympiakos. The match was full of excitement and goals. Sporting managed to scores two goals in the first half. The goal scorers were Dosta and Cesar. In the second half Dosta scored another one and in the eighty-sixed minute of the game, Odjidja-Ofoe scored one for Olympiakos thus softening his team's defeat.

The two sides have played one game this year, in which Coates scored an own goal and the only goal of the match. In the past, they’ve faced each other on two occasions, both in 2008. Barcelona won both of those matches with a goal difference of +6. Both sides are highly motivated and it should be a real treat for everyone to watch and enjoy.
