AFC Bournemouth
Leicester City
After earning their first Premier League point since February 29 on Thursday, Bournemouth face another tough test aiming to survive relegation. That comes in the form of Brendan Rodgers’ Leicester side, determined to avoid falling out of the top-four. Read my match preview, for the correct score predictions ahead of this fixture.
AFC Bournemouth vs Leicester City Betting Tips
Jose Mourinho was left fuming after Harry Kane was wrongly denied a first-half penalty during their goalless draw against Bournemouth. Josh King clearly bundled the Spurs captain to the turf in the area, though VAR review didn’t overrule the initial decision and play continued.
Hugo Lloris was forced into a handful of important saves as Bournemouth looked dangerous at times, while Callum Wilson had a late strike ruled out for handball. After a spirited display against Manchester United last week and now earning an important point in the relegation battle… Bournemouth mean business again, right?
Perhaps, but it’s not that simple either. Tottenham’s struggles this season have been well-documented and Eddie Howe’s side, despite their aforementioned chances, can count themselves fortunate.
A bigger test of their survival mettle awaits this weekend, against a Leicester side who haven’t played particularly well since last month’s resumption.
The Foxes have won just once (D3, L2) since returning on June 20, yet have a top-four berth to protect as the season draws to a conclusion.
Jamie Vardy added to his tally on Tuesday with a close-range finish in their hard-fought 1-1 draw against Arsenal. He leads the division on 22 goals this term and will be eyeing more on the south Coast, against a porous Cherries backline (59 goals conceded).
AFC Bournemouth vs Leicester City Correct Score Predictions
Call me sceptical, but I’m just unconvinced Bournemouth have what it takes to emerge victorious here.
It’d be a welcome twist in the relegation battle but they were fortunate in midweek, so don’t expect it to continue against Leicester. After all, they have a Champions League qualification berth to defend – especially having dropped points away at Arsenal.
