Switzerland vs England. Monday's match in Basel. Very hard job for Englishmen. Can Sterling justify the trust and score in the Swiss. Roy Hodgson was highly criticized after a bad party of Englishmen against Norway and unconvincing victory 1:0. Can they finally play at a level that is expected of them. We think they must go to win.
Roy Hodgson will need a significant improvement from his England side when they face his former employers Switzerland. Despite coming under scrutiny for his side's toothless display in attack, the victory against the Norwegians saw England end a winless run of five matches.
Hodgson hasn't immediately called up a replacement, leaving him with three strikers - captain Wayne Rooney, Rickie Lambert and Danny Welbeck. England's squad had already been weakened by the recent international retirement of Steven Gerrard and Frank Lampard, while Theo Walcott, Adam Lallana and Glen Johnson are among the players out injured.
Daniel Sturridge has been ruled out for England with a hamstring injury, so Danny Welbeck is likely to come into the team to partner Wayne Rooney up front. The away side have no further injury concerns.
Switzerland could name a similar starting XI to the one that was narrowly beaten by Argentina in the second round of the World Cup, with Xherdan Shaqiri, Josip Drmic and Gokhan Inler all involved.
Possible starting lineups:
We finally expect from the Englishmen game with a lot of goals. We believe they will score at least two, but can they save own goal. They can. Our prediction is Switzerland vs England 1:2
